SHAWNEE, Okla. –- The Scorpion
men's golf team shot
a second round 335
to finish in ninth place total
out of 12 teams at Bison
Invitational Golf Tournament
Monday, April 7, at the Shawnee
Country Club.
Coupled with the first-day total of 318, the Scorpions finished with a two-day total of 653, which was 54 shots behind tournament champion Missouri Valley College, which had a 599. Oklahoma Baptist University, the first-day leader, was second at 605 and Southwestern College was third at 606.
Four of the five Scorpion golfers shot higher scores in Tuesday's second round.
Anthony Lopez finished with a 161 (77-84), Chris Milligan 163 (81-82), Brock Crosson 164 (84-80), and Victor Calzada 168 (79-89). O.J. Moreno's score of 172 (81-91) did not count toward the team standings.
The Scorpions next compete in the Red River Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VI Championship April 21-22 in Lubbock.
