Scorpions Finish Sixth at Tyler JC Invitational

BULLARD, Texas – The UTB/TSC men’s golf team shot a 324 score to finish sixth at the rain-shortened Tyler Junior College Fall Invitational at the Oak Hurst Golf Club here Tuesday, October 23.

The tournament was shortened to 18 holes because of heavy rains and cold weather on the scheduled first day of the tournament Monday. The conditions for the Tuesday round were tough because of the cold and damp weather.

Jones Mitchell led the Scorpion golf team with a 79. Chris Milligan shot an 81, O.J. Moreno and Victor Calzada 82 each, and Brock Crossen 92. Anthony Lopez, playing as an individual, shot an 82.

Tyler Junior College won the tournament with a 308 score, while Arkansas-Fort Smith and Lon Morris College were tied for second at 313.

The tournament was the last action of the Fall season for the Scorpion golf team. Tournament play will resume in February.
