in the
36-hole
tournament
ending
Tuesday,
April 3.
The Scorpions finished Tuesday's round with a 358, nine shots higher than Monday's 349 for a 36-hole total of 707. Southern Nazarene University won the tournament with a 309-305=614 total.
April Martinez led the Scorpion efforts with a 164, shooting an 85 Tuesday after an opening-round score of 79.
"This was a tough course, because of all the water on every hole," Scorpion head golf coach Bob Lucio said. "This is the kind of course where you have to know it so you can know where not to hit it."
Other scores for the Scorpions were Tara Calderon 88-87=175, Allison Valles 89-98=187, Annette Valdez 98-89=187, and Dena Dutchover 93-97=190.
The next action for the women's golf team will be at the Red River Athletic Conference and Region VI Championships April 16-17 in Lubbock.
