Scorpion Women Golfers Seventh after First Day of Tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. –- The UTB/TSC Scorpions women’s golf team sits in seventh place after the first round of the Southern Nazarene University Invitational Golf Tournament at the Rose Creek Golf Course Monday, September 17.

Junior April Martinez shot a 79 Monday to lead the Scorpions' team total of 345, 27 shots behind tournament leader Redlands College (Calif.). Martinez is tied for sixth place in the individual medalist standings.

 

Freshman Rae-Anne Lerma shot an 84, Tara Calderon 90, Allison Valles 92, and Annette Valdes 104.

 

The second round of the 36-hole tournament is scheduled Tuesday, September 18. It's the second tournament of the fall season for the Scorpions.
