Men's Soccer Scorpions Open Season; Women Also Play Monday

SHAWNEE, Okla. -- The UTB/TSC men's and women's soccer teams start four-game road trips with games against St. Gregory's University Monday, September 3.

It's the season opener for the men's soccer team, while the women's team is 1-0 after defeating Texas A&M International University last week, 3-1. UTB/TSC is in its first year of its men's and women's soccer program.

St. Gregory's is a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference, which is in Region VI with the Scorpions and other teams in the Red River Athletic Conference.

The women's game begins at 2 p.m. and the men's game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

Lena Candia scored all three goals in the Scorpions' win over TAMIU in Laredo August 27.

On Tuesday, September 4, both the men's and women's teams will stay in Shawnee to take on Oklahoma Baptist University in a doubleheader.
