Women's Soccer Scorpions Play in SAGU Tourney

CEDAR HILL -- The UTB/TSC Scorpion women’s soccer team will compete in the Southwest Assemblies of God University Classic Tournament, held at Northwood University in Cedar Hill Friday and Saturday September 14-15.

The Scorpions (3-2)will begin play in the tournament at 3 p.m. Friday, September 14, against McPherson University (2-2). The Scorpions' second opponent will be York College (0-4-1) at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15.

 

“This is a big weekend for us,” Scorpion head coach Nik Barjaktarevic said. “We are 3-2 and we have to start winning.”

 

On the last road trip, the Scorpions dominated St. Gregory’s University with a 5-0 victory on September 3, but suffered a disappointing loss to Oklahoma Baptist University 5-1 on September 5.

 

Category leaders for the Scorpions include Lena Candia in goals (1.2), shots (3.75) and shots on goal (3.75), and Aleisha Cassie in assists (0.5)

 

After the road trip to Cedar Hill, the Scorpions will visit Texas Lutheran University in Seguin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, before heading home to Morningside Park with games on Thursday, September 20, and Saturday, September 22.
