Women's Soccer Scorpions Drop 3-2 Decision to Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN -- Texas Lutheran University scored twice in the last 10 minutes to take a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the UTB/TSC women's soccer team at Gustafson Field at Tuesday, September 18.

The Scorpions led 1-0 at halftime and 2-0 early in the second half before TLU came back to score in the 70th minute to cut the lead to 2-1. The Bulldogs tied the game in the 81st at 2-2 and scored the game-winner in the 88th minute.

Mayra Solis scored both goals for the Scorpions. She got assists from Lena Candia in the second minute to give the Scorpions a 1-0 lead and in the 56th minute from Vanessa Gallegos.

Shots were even at 15-15. Scorpion goalkeeper Jacqui Ruiz had four saves.

The game marked the eighth straight road game for the Scorpions, who are now 5-3. UTB/TSC plays its first home game at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 20 against Huston-Tillotson University in a Red River Athletic Conference game. The Scorpions are also home Saturday against College of the Southwest.

Out of the 17 games on the Scorpion schedule, the first eight have been on the road. The Scorpions are home for five of their last nine games.
