Volleyball Scorpions Blank ASU for 5th Straight Victory

SAN ANGELO – The UTB/TSC Scorpions shut down tournament host Angelo State University, 3-0, to extend their winning streak to five matches at the four-team Fairfield Inn/Staybridge Suites Invitational at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.

The victory was the third straight for the Scorpions over NCAA Division II opponents. On August 29, the Scorpions defeated Texas A&M University-Kingsville, 3-1, and defeated New Mexico Highlands University on Friday, August 31, in the first day of the tournament.

The Scorpions will play for the tournament championship against Midwestern State University (4-2) at 2 p.m. MSU has also defeated New Mexico Highlands and Angelo State in the tournament.

UTB/TSC, now 5-2, won by scores of 30-28, 30-24, 30-27.

Talita Milasauskas led the Scorpion victory with 12 kills and four blocks while Claudia Alarcon added nine kills and Dainarah Bracero seven kills and 35 assists. Lesly Montes led the digs category with seven.
