Scorpions Sloppy in 3-0 Win over Our Lady of the Lake
Posted September 28, 2007
SAN ANTONIO -- It was not pretty, but the 22nd-ranked UTB/TSC women's volleyball team blanked Our Lady of the Lake University, 30-22, 30-23, 30-26, here Friday, September 28.

OLLU is an independent member of the NAIA, and is hopeful of gaining entry into the Red River Athletic Conference in 2008. On September 4 in Brownsville, the Scorpions manhandled the Saints, 30-13, 30-16, 30-11.

UTB/TSC raised its record to 15-5 overall and is 2-0 in RRAC play. The Scorpions return to RRAC play in Austin Saturday afternoon at Huston-Tillotson University (0-16, 0-2).

"We were sloppy, we made 24 hitting errors, and that's way too much," Scorpions head coach Marucs Young said. "We had already beaten them once, and we didn't play as well as we could have."

Talita Milasauskas led the Scorpions with 11 kills, 6 digs and five blocks. Jenny Ashley added nine kills and four blocks, Katie Japp had six kills and eight digs, and Claudia Alarcon had four kills to go with 19 digs. Setter Daianarah Bracero had 27 assists to go with four kills and five kills.

After the weekend matches, the Scorpions return home to face Texas A&M University-Kingsville at 7 p.m.  Tuesday, October 2, at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.
