HOBBS, N.M. -- There were no celebrations for the UTB/TSC women's volleyball team when the Scorpions won their 20th match of the season, 3-0, over College of the Southwest, here Saturday, October 6.

The Scorpions improved their season record to 20-5 and 4-0 in Red River Athletic Conference play after the 30-17, 30-26, 30-19 victory. UTB/TSC also clinched the top seed in the South Division in the RRAC Tournament in November.

"It sounds good, but it doesn't really mean anything," Scorpion head coach Marcus Young said. "We have much higher goals than just winning 20."

The Scorpions are the 22nd-ranked NAIA team in the country and are ranked first in NAIA Region VI. CSW dropped to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in RRAC play.

And for the third straight match in less than 24 hours, Talita Milasauskas overpowered the opposition. She was one block short of collecting her third striaght triple-double with 17 kills, 12 digs and nine blocks, because the Scorpions needed only three games in the win over the Mustangs.

"We hit the ball very well, and they had a hard time digging it out," Young said. "We had a definite size advantage."

Setter Daianarah Bracero also her had best three-match stretch, collecting 40 assists against CSW for a three-match total of 153 in 11 games. Bracero also had eight digs.

Claudia Alarcon had a double-double again with 11 kills and 15 digs, Viviana Lozano added 10 digs.

After five straight weekends on the road, the Scorpions will have two straight weekends at home. The Scorpions begin a four-match homestand at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13, against Huston-Tillotson University at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.
