Posted October 20, 2007
Houston Baptist University ended UTB/TSC's nearly two-year home winning streak with a 3-1 victory before the Scorpions started a new streak with a 3-1 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium Saturday, October 20.

The Scorpions are now 23-6 for the season. The HBU match marked the first time an NCAA Division I opponent had visited the small but noisy Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

The SAGU victory was the last Red River Athletic Conference match for the 2007 season, and the Scorpions swept the South Zone title with a 6-0 conference record. It was also the last home match of the season for the Scorpions.

UTB/TSC has already wrapped up the Red River Athletic Conference South Zone championship. The Scorpions, ranked #23 in the NAIA, will be the top seed when they enter the RRAC Tournament in Fort Worth in November.

The Scorpions play four games at the Trinity University Tournament in San Antonio October 26-27 before finishing the regular season with a match against The University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg Thursday, November 1.
