Scorpions Seeded First for RRAC Volleyball Tournament

Scorpions are favored to win the Red River Athletic Conference
Volleyball Tournament scheduled Friday and Saturday, November 9-10,
at the Sid Richardson Center on the campus of Texas Wesleyan
University.
UTB/TSC, 27-7 for the season, is the top seed in the eight-team tournament. The Scorpions, who finished the RRAC South Zone regular season with a 6-0 record, are ranked 18th in the nation in the latest NAIA national poll.
The Scorpions will play eighth-seeded Bacone College (4-19), which finished fifth out of six teams in the RRAC North Zone with a 2-7 record, at 9 a.m. Friday.
Other first-round games will match #4 College of the Southwest (8-19, 3-3) against #5 Wiley College (10-11, 7-2) at 11 a.m., #2 Texas Wesleyan (28-14, 10-0) against #7 Texas College (5-11, 4-6) at 1 p.m., and #3 Southwestern Assemblies of God (24-9, 3-3) against #6 Paul Quinn College(5-11, 5-4).
Should the Scorpions get past Bacone as expected, they would play the winner of the Southwest-Wiley match at 5 p.m. The other two quarterfinal winners would meet at 7 p.m.
The championship match is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Scorpions have already clinched the top seed in the NAIA Region VI Tournament November 16-17 in Lubbock.
